Who we are
Welcome to Mossy Ridge Outfitting!
Head up to Northern Alberta, Canada for your next hunting adventure with Travis and Cassie Vreeling! We are proud to be a family run business with years of hunting and guiding experience. We specialize in waterfowl, moose, black bear, mule deer, and upland game bird hunts. We and our trusted guides will take you through the North Peace boreal forest, hills, and river banks to show you the rich wildlife and to also give you a taste of living the northern way of life.
The Manning area is filled with bountiful fields of wheat, barley, and peas. We are right on the main travel route for migratory birds so usually our mornings and evenings are action packed! Never a dull moment! We have an amazing number of resident Canada Geese and Mallards and also hundreds of thousands of birds that migrate and nest in our stubbled fields.
We head out early in the morning to set up our top of the line bird decoys and blinds to prepare for our morning hunt! If we do not limit out in the mornings, we will be back in the blinds for an afternoon/evening hunt.
Alberta has a liberal bag limit of 8 ducks and 8 geese per day with triple the daily limit (or 24 of each) as a possession limit. We offer 3 day hunts (three morning and two evening shoots.) Talk to us about customizing a hunt for your group. We would be happy to help!
To take the experience to another level, we use the very best (and cutest) retrieving Labradors! Quinn is our main man, while our pup Merle is undergoing training. Quinn takes charge out there and is overwhelmed with the amount of bird action! These dogs are one of a kind, thanks to Revilo Kennels. Check out their site at www.revilokennels.com.
Not only will you have an amazing waterfowl hunting experience, you will also get to stay in the beautiful Sunny Valley Adventure Lodge! After a morning/evening hunt, you can head back to the lodge to enjoy a home cooked meal, gorgeous deck views, a soak in the hot tub, a game of pool, and just enjoy the beauty of the lodge itself! You can view the lodge and its amenities here at www.sunnyvalleyadventurelodge.ca.

2x1, 5 day Spring Bear Hunt
We love Bear hunting!! There is no greater satisfaction than spotting, stalking and harvesting that huge black bear you’ve been dreaming of! Our hunting area has an extremely high bear population with very little hunting pressure.
Our spot and stalk bear hunts are a duration of 5 days. Our spring hunts start around May 15th and run into the beginning of June. These hunts are based out of our comfortable log cabin camp.

7 Day, 2x1 Moose Hunt
Our Rut Moose hunts run from the end of September to the beginning of October. This time of year can bring brisk mornings and warm afternoons - a really great time to be in Northern Alberta. On our rut hunts, we stay in our comfortable log cabin camp and travel by truck, Atv, and sometimes boat. We cover prime Moose habitat looking for fresh sign and stopping to place calls along the way. This is a fantastic hunt if you want an up close and personal encounter with a majestic Canadian Moose!
Our Late Season Moose hunts take place in November. The bulls are grouping up this time of year so the chances of seeing more than one bull together are quite high. The temperatures can vary, but we typically hunt by either quad or on snowmobile depending on conditions. We will be hunting out of our comfortable and warm log cabin camp.
For pricing and any questions, please contact Travis at 780-836-6456 or send us a message here.

We are offering a 4 day Youth Mule Deer Hunt based out of our log cabin camp. This is a great opportunity for a youth joined by a guardian to share a wonderful hunting adventure together. This is not a physically demanding hunt as we will be hunting out of ground blinds mostly. We will be hunting pre rut in October when the weather is more favorable. This is not a trophy hunt with most bucks being 2-3 pointers.
